理雅各（James Legge, 1815-1897）是西方有史以来最重要的汉学家之一，曾把四书五经等中国经典翻译成英文并出版一系列著作，在西方产生巨大影响。在2015年他诞辰200周年之际，北京外国语大学海外汉学研究中心、香港浸会大学宗教系将共同召开“理雅各与中国典籍英译”国际学术研讨会。诚邀您共襄盛会。

Call for Papers
James Legge and His Translations of Chinese Classics
Beijing, April 10---12, 2015
As one of the most remarkable sinologists in history, James Legge (1815-1897) translated, among others, the Four Books and Five Classics into English, which have exerted profound influence on western academia and society since the mid-19th century.On the 200thanniversary of his birth in 2015, the National Research Centre of Overseas Sinology of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and the Department of Religion of Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) will jointly hold an international conference on “James Legge and His Translations of Chinese Classics”. We sincerely invite your participation.

Abstracts
Those who wish to give papers at the conference should submit their abstracts in no more than 500 English words before 31December2014. If the abstract is accepted, a formal letter of invitation will be issued before 31 January 2015.
Fees
No registration fee will be charged. Food and accommodation during the conference will be provided by the organizer. Transportation to and from Beijing will be at participants’ own expense.
